During a month and a half period this summer there were three week-long backpacks, this, the Nootka Trail, located off the west coast of Vancouver Island, was the last backpacking trip of the season. I was told this was be an easier hike and relieved for it. It wasn't! But as harsh as this environment is, the scenery is spectacular and how could this place not be a revelation!

             The photography is all hand-held using a Sony α6000 and a stock f/3.5-5.6 16-50mm lens. Many are panoramas (a matrix of images stitched) that are best viewed on a good size monitor - no apologies for smartphone or tablet users.
